Major construction works on the Thameslink Programme of upgrade start this week - set in motion with the introduction of a new timetable.
Blackfriars Underground station closed earlier this month to enable the station to be redevelopment into a new interchange complex to serve London Underground and Network Rail services, which is due to be completed in 2011.
The station remains open for main line services with a temporary entrance/exit.
