Merseyside rail strategy ready for ORR consideration

The Merseyside Route Utilisation Strategy, calling for an immediate package of investment for a 30% increase in platform capacity at Liverpool Central Station, is ready to be presented to the Office of Rail Regulation.

The strategy, which ORR has 60 days to consider before it becomes an established strategy, was drawn up by Network Rail along with stakeholders including Merseyrail, Merseytravel PTE, the Department for Transport and Passenger Focus.
