The free travel policy for young people on London’s buses came  in for criticism last week at a seminar on the future of London’s bus network organised by the London Assembly.

Peter White, professor of public transport systems at the University of Westminster, said that he “would query the policy of offering free travel to school children – and especially in the morning peak”.
