In order to control nuisances caused by the unregulated parking of large vehicles on-street overnight, particularly in residential areas, some authorities have introduced overnight parking bans. The largest such ban is in London and covers all but one of the 33 London authorities with some exempted areas, mainly on the urban fringes where the parking of commercial vehicles is not considered a problem.
