Gateshead's famous multi-storey car park was illuminated for one last time before making way for re-development. The car park, which was the setting for an infamous scene in the 1971 cult film Get Carter, was lit up by Gateshead Council and lighting experts R&B Group before it makes way for new developments.
It became widely known as the 'Get Carter Car Park' after a scene in which Michael Caine threw a heavy called Brumby, played by Bryan Moseley, off one of the top levels.
