London’s two-tier PCNs ‘generate extra £40m’

Differential parking fines has resulted in London boroughs taking an extra £40m over a year, according to BBC London.

The broadcaster estimates that three times more fines are issued at the higher level than the lower level. Under the two-tier system some fines are set at £80 while “more serious” offences — such as parking on a single yellow line — result in a £120 charge.
