‘Cadbury law’ won’t prevent deal

The ‘Cadbury law’ that Labour was touted to include in its manifesto turned out to be rather less draconian than leaks suggested. Instead of proposing that the government would be able to prevent the takeover of UK firms on the grounds of national interest, it limited the areas where government could step in to infrastructure and utilities.
