Businesses in Bournemouth, Dorset, are being asked whether or not they are prepared to swap free on-street parking spaces for palm trees. Following the planting of 11 Cordyline Australis palms in early summer at Holdenhurst Road (above), the council is proposing to extend the scheme towards the Lansdowne area.
This would require the creation of a central reservation in the middle of the road, which would in turn mean the loss of 10 free short-stay parking spaces on both sides of the road....
