I really must respond to some of the comments made by readers in response to Paul Biggs’ original letter (ibid).
Terms such as “blinkered and carnage” are not productive. There is certainly no place for the attempted levity, such as that in the letter of Steve Melia, in the life and death issue of road safety where drivers are also prosecuted and jailed for just mistakes and accidents.
