The Competition Commission wants to see more multi-operator ticketing schemes, believing that these will reduce the barriers to entry and stimulate competition between operators.

“There are many urban areas without multi-operator ticketing schemes, including some large urban areas,” it remarks. Even where such tickets do exist, the Commission says their take-up is “generally low”.
