Heathrow's Ultra pods win three awards

A network of driverless pods linking business parking to Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 emerged as the big winner at the British Parking Awards 2012

Business travellers using one of Heathrow Airport’s key business car parks find that they make the final leg of their journey to the terminal not by shuttle bus but in white, driverless capsules which glide above the road network on dedicated tracks. These capsules, or pods, are part of a passenger rapid transport (PRT) system that the airport’s operator, BAA, believes will become increasingly common in the future.
