The theft of a speed camera worth £40,000 from a Hampshire road will result in serious accidents at the site, police warn. A disc cutter was used to remove the camera at West Wellow, near Romsey on the A36, said Hampshire Police.
The static Truvello safety camera had been in place since 2003. Police said that the camera’s presence had helped reduce injuries by 60% during nine years of operation.
