The French Capital is something of an exception to the organisational arrangements which apply to passenger transport delivery in the rest of the country. Public transport in Paris is over seen by a transport association called Syndicat des Transports d’Ile-de-France (STIF), which covers all of the Ile-de-France, essentially the Greater Paris area.
