Virgin has been running Pendolinos on the UK West Coast Main Line since 2002 and founder Sir Richard Branson invited Alston chief Patrick Kron to a celebration last December of the 30 millionth passenger to have travelled, double the numbers carried just seven years ago.

Alstom and Transmashholding launch new Moscow tramway

Alstom are in partnership with Transmash-holding (TMH) to supply a high-speed low-floor tramway to be built in Russia with associated innovative management systems.

The modular prototype presented in Moscow is based on Alstom’s flagship Citadis, designed for maximum speed of 75kph, and average 25kph compared to 11kph for existing tramways in Moscow.
