Formula One fans are being asked not to head the British Grand Prix qualifying sessions at Silverstone today (Saturday) because there organisers want to ensure that the circuit’s rain affected car parks can remain usable for race day on Sunday.

The heavy rain affecting much of Britain played havoc with Friday’s practice sessions at the circuit, which is near Milton Keynes. While drivers were able to do only limited practice runs on the track itself, traffic queues several miles long started...
