Stagecoach is to fund a £3m park-and-ride site in Stockport in what the operator believes to be the first such initiative in the country.
The operator is working with Stockport Council on plans for the facility at Hazel Grove, which will be served by service 192 that runs on the A6 into Manchester city centre. The facility will initially have 450 car parking spaces – but room for more – plus 50 bicycle parking spaces.
