A professor has halved his estimate for the number of killed and serious injuries prevented by speed cameras after using a new method to estimate effects.
Professor Richard Allsop’s report, Effectiveness of speed cameras, published by the RAC Foundation in 2010, concluded that cameras cut the number of people killed or seriously injured on Britain’s roads each year by about 800.
