Bristol councils lack ambition for local rail services

In Bristol today is a true battle of the modes. Is it to be car, BRT or rail?

The one winning at the moment is the car. Bristol continues to be a most congested, slow-moving city.  The mayor is addressing this with city-wide 20mph and inner city residents-only parking but so far has baulked at congestion charging or a workplace parking levy able to provide a much-needed locally-controlled public transport funding stream.  

More unfortunate is the confused direction of public transport...
