TfL defends New Bus for London operations

Transport for London’s bus director has defended the decision not to deploy conductors on one of the routes using the New Bus for London.  

Buses on route 148 are operating with their open rear platforms locked out of use because they are not being staffed with a conductor. Critics say this negates the very purpose of the new vehicle, which is to allow passengers to ‘hop on and off’.
