The City of York has challenged a Traffic Penalty Tribunal (TPT) ruling that it acted illegally in issuing nearly 50,000 penalty charge notices (PCNs) to drivers who had contravened two city centre traffic restrictions.
The TPT decision said that using ANPR cameras to enforce bus lane restrictions on Lendal Bridge and Coppergate was not legal.
