The Mayor's cycling czar Andrew Gilligan has revealed to the BBC that there has been "absolutely overwhelming support" for proposed north-south and east-west segregated cycle lanes across central London.

As the consultation closed on Sunday, Gilligan said that of 14,000 responses, 80% of respondents were in support. The media has covered prominent opposition to the proposals.
