Low-speed roads ‘don’t need 20mph

Argyll and Bute Council has ruled out signed-only 20mph speed limits on roads with already low speeds. “It is not considered that best value can be demonstrated by introducing mandatory 20mph speed limits in areas where speeds are already low simply to provide a ‘feel good’ factor,” says the council’s new speed limit policy.
