Senior figures at the DfT, TfL and Transport Scotland were among those to be recognised in the New Year Honours.
Michelle Dix, managing director, planning, at Transport for London and David Middleton, chief executive, Transport Scotland, were both awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to the transport industry.
Steven Berry, team leader at the DfT, meanwhile, was recognised with an OBE for "services to local transport resilience" and Jeremy Moore, the liaison officer for road policing at the Association of Chief Police Officers, for "services to road safety and policing". Stephen Fox, chief executive at BAM Nuttall and Andrew Wyllie, chief executive at Costain, both received an OBE for "services to civil engineering and construction".
In total, 1,164 people received an award this year to recognise the achievement of "extraordinary people," 243 at OBE level.
