A high-speed rail station in Stoke-on-Trent would deliver far greater economic benefits than a parkway station at Crewe, according to a study by consultant Volterra for Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Volterra says Stoke has space in the middle of the city that could accommodate a station and associated development. “An HS2 station can provide the basis for a city centre in Stoke-on-Trent.”
