Dorset County Council has closed its park-and-ride facility serving Weymouth until next spring because of ongoing losses.
Councillors took the decision after hearing that on 93 days last winter the facility actually increased vehicular traffic volumes in Weymouth town centre because the number of dedicated bus services to/from the site outnumbered the number of cars parked at the site.
