Q-Park UK has taken over the management of the car park for Edinburgh city centre’s Quartermile development, which is located near to Princes Street and University of Edinburgh.
The underground car park provides 468 spaces for business, residential and leisure facility.
Q-Park said it will upgrade the site’s parking equipment and carry out a refurbishment in line with its corporate branding.
Quartermile’s finance director, Mike Milligan, said: “The development is home to a large population of residents, business community and visitors all year round so it is vital that our car park has a reputation for high quality parking management.
“Customers recognise the distinguished Q-Park brand as one of quality, which we feel is perfectly aligned with the Quartermile brand and gives an assurance of high standards to all that use the car parking facilities at the development.”
Once completed in 2018, Quartermile will comprise 1,050 apartments – some 600 are already occupied and another 176 currently being built. It will also feature 370,000 sq ft of office accommodation, 65,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space and seven acres of open landscaping.
Q-Park managing director Adam Bidder said: “Edinburgh is a key city for the company as Q-Park currently operates Q-Park OMNI which was taken over in 2013. This successful facility provides 1,000 parking spaces for shoppers, event goers and city workers as it is situated underneath the OMNI Centre. Our recent £1m refurbishments have been completed at the facility with further developments in the near future.”
