May I write to congratulate Idris Francis on the very interesting set of data he has produced on fatal and serious collisions within 500 metres of speed cameras in 22 police areas, which you published in the letters pages (LTT 08 Jan).

To see if I could help in some study of this material, I painstakingly read off the values from the chart you printed. Of course, there will inevitably be errors in such an undertaking. Even so, as the attached chart shows (see above), the series which emerges...
