Dial-a-ride services have been providing door-to-door transport for disabled passengers in much of Britain since the 1980s, aiming to provide ‘parallel public transport’ for disabled people who cannot use buses. While many services became integrated into the fabric of transport provision in urban areas, there have in recent times increasingly been suggestions that their use is declining.
