Service cutbacks are looming, warns Nexus

Public transport service cuts will have to be made in Tyne and Wear from 2017 as  councils cut expenditure, the North East Combined Authority (NECA) has warned.

The transport levy paid by the five Tyne and Wear districts will fall by £2m (3.1%) in 2015/16 to £65.1m. No service reductions are proposed and the anticipated £3.6m revenue budget deficit in 2016/17 will be covered by reserves.
