Child bus fares in South Yorkshire are to rise again after political leaders approved a 10% cut to the transport levy in 2016/17, which principally funds the activities of South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.
The combined authority levy will be cut from £68.3m this year to £61.5m. The PTE will lose £5.9m of levy income but the PTE’s overall budgetary pressure in the coming year is higher, at £8.5m.
