The DfT has launched a consultation on the specification for the next West Coast Main Line franchise, which commences in April 2018.
Over 34 million journeys were made on ICWC franchise services in 2014/15 with 4.3 billion passenger miles travelled. Passenger journeys grew by around 20% between 2010/11 and 2014/15.
During the new franchise there will be substantial infrastructure works taking place for HS2 at Euston.
