RECORDED CRIME has dropped in most areas of Leicestershire where streetlights are now switched-off at night, according to analysis by the county council.
Streetlights are switched off between midnight and 5am in 157 residential areas of the county. Implementation of the switch-off programme began in 2010 and the final stage was implemented in summer 2014.
