DVLA revenues dropped by £200m with end of tax disc, claims FT

The amount of vehicle excise duty collected from UK motorists fell by more than £200m in the six months after the tax disc was abolished, it has been reported.

Figures obtained by the Financial Times showed £2.7bn was collected in the six months after the online system was introduced in October 2014.

The figures obtained from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) show that between October 2014 and March 2015 some £2.7bn was collected in vehicle tax - £223m lower...
