SURREY COUNTY Council has awarded Jenoptik Traffic Solutions UK – the new name for Vysionics – a contract to supply automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) cameras for journey time reliability monitoring and crime investigations.
The council plans to install 130 ANPR cameras at 59 locations on key corridors in the eastern part of the county, with the data captured being streamed into the back offices of Surrey County Council and Surrey Police.
