Chester's 'Free After Three' parking scheme reviewed

A scheme allowing drivers to park in Chester city centre for free after 3pm could be ended because it adds to evening rush-hour traffic.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is currently consulting on whether or not to end its "Free After Three" scheme.

A new parking strategy recommends replacing the ‘Free After Three’ scheme with bus discounts and shorter periods of free parking to encourage trade throughout the day.
