Funding and delivery of apprenticeships have undergone a major change, says City & Guild’s Steve Hewitt

Apprenticeships in the UK have undergone major change. In April the government introduced an Apprenticeship Levy that is designed to encourage more companies to invest in apprenticeship programmes. The new levy is part of a raft of changes that also see employers given more control over the content and delivery of apprenticeships. The new approach also enables employers to design apprenticeships that better reflect their activities and skills needs.
