The Welsh Government’s trial of free long-distance bus travel commences this weekend, with all passengers entitled to travel without charge on the seven Government-funded TrawsCymru routes.
Ministers have agreed a budget of up to £1m for the trial this financial year. The Government is not expecting substantial compensation claims from operators that compete with TrawsCymru, saying it expects the trial to increase bus patronage overall.
