Arrests made in York after attacks on parking meters

Two men have been arrested connection with the attempted theft of parking meters from the streets of York.

Police were called around 9.15pm on 13 July after a van was spotted crashing into a parking machine on Wigginton Road. The occupants then allegedly loaded the machines into the van. Later that evening the police received reports of an incident in the Carlisle Street car park. When police arrived scene they arrested two suspects. The police found an angle grinder.
