Intel buys Mobileye as part of automated vehicle strategy

US computer chip manufacturer Intel has signalled its interest in the autonomous driving market by purchasing Israeli technology company Mobileye.

Intel is reported to have paid $15.3bn for Mobileye, which manufactures cameras, sensors and software. Mobileye supplies technology to most major car-makers and is active areas such as digital mapping.
