The City of London is planning to create taxi ranks reserved for electric vehicles. The Corporation is keen to encourage the use of electric taxis as cabs are regarded as being the primary source of NO2 pollution from road-based transport in the City.

The Corporation of the City of London has offered electric vehicle (EV) charging points in its five car parks for 15 years, but the taxi rank points will be the first EV charging points to be provided on-street in the Square Mile.
