Manchester steps up fight against flytipping by destroying van

A van used in fly-tipping offences has been seized and crushed by Manchester City Council. This is the first time the city council has made use of special powers under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 - that allows the seizure and sale or destruction of a vehicle involved in such offences.
