Drivers in Inverness will get 15 minutes free when parking in the city centre for the next year.
The free parking period is designed to help drivers making quick pick-ups from shops and services in the city centre.
Drivers will collect a ticket from pay & display machines entitled them to 15 minutes free parking on-street. However, the free offer will not apply in pay & display car parks.
Highland Council's Inverness city committee approved 12-month pilot of the idea.
