A fire at a multi-storey car park in Liverpool destroyed up to 1,400 vehicles, forcing many people to spend New Year’s Eve in a temporary shelter. The fire started at around 4.40pm in the King’s Dock car park, which is adjacent to the Liverpool Echo Arena, part of the Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) Liverpool complex. 

It appears flames from a blaze in one car spread to other vehicles around it, and then to cars parked on other decks.
