North Somerset Council has reported an alarming rise in attacks on civil enforcement officers in Weston-super-Mare since it started enforcing parking restrictions in the seaside town in April 2017.
CEOs have been punched, spat at and pelted with eggs since patrols started, the council says.
In one instance motorists attempted to lift a CEO over a sea wall, which has a 4.5m drop on the other side. The CEO was saved after another officer came to his aid, a council spokeswoman said.
