Thirteen of the 15 original fleet of Midland Metro light rail vehicles have been sold for scrap for just £12,000 – less than £1,000 per vehicle. The vehicles were introduced in 1998 for the Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton line but were replaced with new vehicles in 2014.
