Ford is testing a concept called ‘collaborative parking’ which uses data collected by vehicle sensors to help drivers save time when looking for parking spaces.

Using a vehicle’s parking sensors, all the empty spaces are picked out and then shared with other cars to show where spots are most likely to be.

The data is crowd-sourced to build a virtual map of a car park so then drivers can find an empty spot much faster than normal.
