A Private Member’s Bill seeking to prohibit charging for car parking at NHS hospitals for patients, staff and visitors in England will receive its second reading in the House of Commons on 15 June.
The Hospital Car Parking Charges (Abolition) Bill 2017-19, sponsored by Robert Halton MP, seeks to harmonise England with Wales and Scotland, where parking at NHS hospitals is free.
