The London Borough of Brent is to reduce the maximum allowable weight of vehicles eligible for resident’s parking permits from 5 to 3.5 tonnes. Brent says weight restrictions are the easiest way to stop large vehicles taking up excessive space within controlled parking zones. Weight data can be easily accessed from vehicle records, whereas civil enforcement officers would have to measure a vehicle’s dimensions.
