The leaders of Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council have both rejected an MP’s call for the unitary councils to merge. The idea was suggested by Shrewsbury and Atcham’s Conservative MP Daniel Kawczynski. Telford and Wrekin Council leader Shaun Davies said: “This MP has long sought our merger with Shropshire Council and I can only assume it is because he wants to rob Telford and Wrekin residents to pay for Shropshire Council and sort its problems out.”...
