Boris Johnson has asked former HS2 Ltd chairman Doug Oakervee to lead a six-week review of the HS2 project.
The Prime Minister told MPs the review would examine the “profiling of the spend on HS2”. It will report in the autumn.
On a visit to Birmingham, he said he expected the cost of building the full Y network from London to Birmingham and on to Manchester and Leeds would “probably be north of £100bn”.
